Pizza pizza!

Use this sourdough pizza base recipe to feed a crowd or parbake bases for an easy dinner another night.

Hands up if you love pizza! This recipe is the perfect balance of chewiness and crispness you get from sourdough bases and the flavour is out of this world. You can cut the recipe in half if you prefer a smaller batch.


Sourdough Pizza Bases ( Makes 10 small bases)


360 g fed sourdough starter

490 g water

826 g plain flour

18 g sea salt


Method


Feed your sourdough starter 10 to 20 hours prior to mixing up dough. Mix all ingredients in mixer and knead for 5 minutes or until dough is elastic. Separate dough into 10 equal balls. Place each ball on a flour tray or plastic container. Cover and leave to rise for 4 to 6 hours.


Preheat oven to 220C - 240. Flour bench and roll or hand shape into pizza base and place on a lined tray. Add toppings. Bake for around 20-25 minutes.


Par bake any extra bases by rolling into shape and baking for 12 minutes in a 220C oven and freeze for later when cool.
